2024 USWRA AGM Proposals

The results of the 2024 USWRA AGM Proposals are as follows:

• Since USWRA Nationals with three divisions was on a two year trial. The league voted to keep USWRA Nationals with three divisions.
• Proposal 1 – Limit the number of players with an age adjustment to one player on the court at a time. FAILED (8 yes, 26 no)
• Proposal 6 – Limit the number of players with an age adjustment to two players on the court at a time. PASSED (23 yes, 9 no, 1 abstain)
• Proposal 2 – If a player “hops” out of a double team and ends up on the floor there is a penalty on the player that “hops”. PASSED (24 yes, 7 no, 1 abstain)
• Proposal 3 – Mercy Rule - if a team is losing by 15+ points at the start of the 4th quarter, a running 4th quarter clock will be utilized IF BOTH teams AND the tournament director agree to it. PASSED (24 yes, 10 no) 
• Proposal 4 – A sleeveless undershirt must be the similar hue of jersey being worn OR it may be black color (away team) or white color (home team) PASSED (28 yes, 6 no)
• Proposal 5 – At Nationals, the schedule format is determined by the tournament director with no more than 2 games during any day of the tournament. FAILED (14 yes, 18 no, 1 abstain)
• Proposal 7 – At Nationals, return to two divisions of eight teams with the double crossover that is used at Semifinals. FAILED (7 yes, 22 no, 1 abstain)
• Proposal 8 – Withdrawn
• Proposal 9 – International players are not allowed in division three. FAILED (8 yes, 24 no)
• Proposal 10 – Eliminate the Commissioner’s ability to provide an exemption to the 150 mile rule. FAILED (5 yes, 27 no, 1 abstain)
• Proposal 11 – Allow teams to opt out of the USWRA insurance if they can produce a certificate of insurance from their own insurance company with minimum requirements set forth by the USWRA annually. FAILED
• Proposal 12 – Allow teams a medical exemption to the postseason withdraw penalty when withdrawing after January 15th. FAILED (9 yes, 22 no, 1 abstain)
• Proposal 13 – Any athlete that has been on a Paralympic team or a team that competed at World Championships in the last year will not be given the age adjustment. PASSED (24 yes, 9 no)
