How to Become a Classifier

Classifiers are required to have a formally-trained knowledge of how to perform a neuromuscular evaluation. Classifiers tend to be occupational/physical therapists or physicians. It is not necessary to have previous experience with wheelchair rugby, although it is helpful. The experienced classifiers in the league will help coordinate your training, and will integrate you into classification panels with multiple classifiers to immerse you in the process, while allowing you to ease into making determinations of athlete classifications. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a classifier, please reach out to the Head of Classification for the USWRA.
